The Lyons Farm PTA supported snack bank works to make sure all students are provided a healthy snack during the days should they need one. Snacks are delivered every three weeks to teachers and we need help getting the to their classes once they are delivered.
We’re excited to have Kids Voting Durham back at Lyons Farm this fall. We’ll bring Durham’s Mayor and City Council elections—and hands-on civic engagement experiences—directly into our school.
Local elections are especially meaningful for students because they elect leaders from their own community. These leaders make decisions that directly impact students’ daily lives through services like parks and recreation, streets, garbage and recycling, police and safety services, and more. *You must be a DPS approved volunteer.
Crayons2Calculators (C2C) (now part of the DPS Foundation) is a committed group of staff and volunteers who partner with the community to directly equip Durham Public School teachers with the classroom supplies they need to help reduce barriers to success for every Durham Public School student. Volunteers are needed to pack up the supplies and deliver them to the school.
Fill out our volunteer interest form to share your volunteer preferences for the 2025-2026 School Year. A board member, committee chair, or the volunteer coordinator will be in contact with you.
If you would like to volunteer during school hours on campus, you are required to be a DPS approved volunteer. The application is short and takes under 10 minutes! Register today!
